Privacy policy

The purpose of this privacy policy is to provide maximum transparency regarding the information collected by the website and how it is used.

 

In compliance with national regulations (D. Lgs 30 June 2003 n. 196, Code regarding the protection of personal data, and subsequent amendments; Provision Register no. 231 of 10 June 2021) and European regulations (European Regulation on the protection of personal data no. 679/2016, GDPR), this site respects and protects the privacy of visitors and users, making every possible and proportionate effort to not harm users' rights.

 

This site does not publish advertisements, does not use data for advertising purposes, but it does use third-party services to improve site usage, third parties that may collect user data and then use it to send personalized advertisements on other sites. However, the Robert F. Kennedy Foundation of Italy – ONLUS makes every effort to protect users' privacy and minimize the collection of personal data. For example, the site uses YouTube videos, which are set not to send cookies (and therefore not collect data) until the user starts the video directly on the YouTube page.

 

COMPLETE INFORMATION

This site processes data based on users' consent. Consent is provided via the banner at the bottom of the page, through checkboxes on contact and newsletter subscription forms, or other forms. By using or browsing the site, visitors and users approve this privacy policy and consent to the processing of their personal data in relation to the methods and purposes described below, including any dissemination to third parties if necessary for providing a service.

 

Additional consents related to the specific purpose of the service are collected via communication or service request forms.

 

Providing data and therefore consent to data collection and processing is optional; the user can refuse consent and can revoke consent already provided at any time (via the banner at the bottom of the page or browser settings for cookies, or the Contacts link). However, refusing consent may make it impossible to provide certain services and the browsing experience on the site would be reduced.

 

Data for site security and prevention of abuse and SPAM, as well as data for site traffic analysis (statistics) in aggregate form, are processed based on the legitimate interest of the data controller to protect the site and its users. In such cases, the user always has the right to object to the data processing (see User Rights section).

 

DATA COLLECTED

This site collects user data in various ways.

  1. Data collected automatically

During user navigation, the following information can be collected and stored in the server log files (hosting):

  • - Internet protocol (IP) address;
  • - Type of browser;
  • - Device parameters used to connect to the site;
  • - Name of the Internet service provider (ISP);
  • - Date and time of visit;
  • - Web page of origin of the visitor (referral) and exit;
  • - Possibly the number of clicks.


These data are used for statistical and analytical purposes, in an exclusively aggregated form. The IP address is used solely for security purposes and is not matched with any other data.

2. Voluntarily provided data


The site can collect other data (name and email address) in the case of voluntary use of services by users (contact forms and newsletter subscription), and will be used exclusively for the service requested.

For providing and managing the newsletter, the Robert F. Kennedy Foundation of Italy – ONLUS uses the service offered by MailChimp. The data collected are also stored on MailChimp servers. According to MailChimp's privacy policy, the data will never be used directly by MailChimp or sold to third parties.

PLACE OF PROCESSING

The data are processed at the headquarters of the Robert F. Kennedy Foundation of Italy Onlus, Via Ghibellina, 12/a (LE MURATE) – 50122 Florence (FI), and at the data center of the web Hosting (Tophost). The web hosting is responsible for processing, processing the data on behalf of the controller. Tophost is located in the European Economic Area and acts in accordance with European regulations.

 

PURPOSES OF PROCESSING

The processing of data collected by the site, in addition to purposes connected, instrumental, and necessary for the provision of the service, is aimed at the following purposes:

 

  • - Security
    Collection of data and information to protect the security of the site (antispam filters, firewalls, virus detection) and users and to prevent or unmask fraud or abuse to the detriment of the website. The data are recorded automatically and may also include personal data (IP address) that could be used, in accordance with applicable laws, to block attempts to damage the site or to cause damage to other users, or otherwise harmful or criminal activities. Such data are never used for user identification or profiling and are periodically deleted. Consent is not required.

  • - Provision of services
    Collection of data to communicate with users through newsletters, emails, and recommend services that may be of interest to them.

  • - Accessory activities
    Communicating data to third parties performing functions necessary or instrumental to the operation of the service, and allowing third parties to perform technical, logistical, and other activities on our behalf. Suppliers have access only to personal data necessary to perform their duties, and are committed to not use the data for other purposes, and are required to process personal data in accordance with applicable regulations.

 

DATA RETENTION PERIOD

The data collected by the site during its operation are kept for the time strictly necessary to carry out the activities specified. Upon expiry, the data will be deleted or anonymized, unless there are further purposes for their retention.

The data (IP address) used for site security (blocking damage attempts) are kept for 30 days.

 

TRANSFER OF DATA TO THIRD PARTIES

The data collected by the site are generally not provided to third parties, except in specific cases: legitimate request by the judicial authority and only in the cases provided by law; when necessary for the provision of a specific service requested by the user; for the execution of security checks or site optimization.

 

SECURITY MEASURES

We process visitors/users' data lawfully and correctly, adopting appropriate security measures to prevent unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, or unauthorized destruction of data. We are committed to protecting the security of your personal data during their transmission, using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software, which encrypts the information in transit. Processing is carried out using IT and/or telematic tools, with organizational methods and logic strictly related to the purposes indicated. In addition to the controller, in some cases, categories of persons in charge involved in the organization of the site or external subjects (such as third-party technical service providers, hosting providers) may have access to the data.

 

USER RIGHTS

Pursuant to European Regulation 679/2016 (GDPR), the User may, in accordance with the procedures and within the limits established by current regulations, exercise the following rights:

  • Object in whole or in part, for legitimate reasons, to the processing of personal data concerning them;
  • Request confirmation of the existence of personal data concerning them (right of access);
  • Know the origin of the data;
  • Receive communication in an intelligible form;
  • Obtain information on the logic, methods, and purposes of the processing;
  • Request the updating, rectification, integration, deletion, anonymization, or blocking of data processed in violation of the law, including data no longer necessary for the purposes for which they were collected;
  • In cases of processing based on consent, receive their data provided to the Data Controller in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format at the sole cost of any support used;
  • The right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority (Garante Privacy – link to the Garante’s page);
  • As well as, more generally, exercise all the rights recognized by current laws.
